Bought some Harley forward controls and fabricated some brackets to weld to the frame and hold the controls
Starting to look pretty cool ! Bearing in mind this chop was a bag of nails when i got her ,she is starting to take shape . Still alot to sort out though , not least Brakes/Wiring/Lights/chain and sprocket etc.
A good view of the Uncle Bunts frame with the plunger suspension units. These work using two different rated springs per unit , one spring copes with the damping and the other deals with the recoil .
Fitted Harley Davidson Sportster front forks as the old Yamaha xj forks didnt feel right somehow , not sure if the bearing cases were different but these forks fit very well with no play in the steering .
This is the early Yamaha XJ600 engine ( pre diversion model ) its a 4 cylinder air cooled inline engine with four carbs and a homemade exhaust 2x 2 into 1( Twin overhead cam).
My Chopper /Lowrider project is believed to be an uncle bunts plunger frame with Harley wheels and a Yamaha XJ600 engine and front forks. I bought it from an online auction site and have been modifying it to my personal taste since.
